Have you got a favourite place to sit? A favourite mug? A Favourite way to walk to work?
Favourites could just be a routine so ingrained that the thought of doing something any other way would break the matrix. Habits can sometimes become “normal”. This could be great if you’re aspiring to better yourself. But could these habits keep you close-minded. Could your favourites be keeping you comfortable? Could they be holding you back?
Or is that the point of them? They are nostalgic, they are home, they are childhood, they are comfort and ease?
I look at myself and a few favourite things I like to do and seats I enjoy relaxing in. Take, for example, my “spot” on the sofa. It’s warm, comfy, and holds my back even when it aches; it’s my favourite to relax with a book and a cup of tea. However, if I were to sit down and draw or eat my dinner, the sofa isn’t my favourite space – quite far from it.
So, are “Favourites” situational?
I’ve been trying out new pens to find my favourite to sketch and draw.

How do I pick my favourite? I suppose one can only think about that one task in the moment, and then that will become a habit. It will become an extension of myself. I will be able to learn my hand in drawing and use it to the best of my ability.
Until the wind changes. But there still will be that one thing that nothing can break you from… That is your true favourite.
Now, where’s my old mug?
