Woodland Walk Sketch

This was a quick sketch using brown UniPin fine line 0.3&0.5 nibs.

I tend to go big, maybe because of a bit of anxiety for details? Perhaps that’s just me?

This was meant to be only a 2-5min sketch but took about 20 mins as I did it on an A4. This affected the foliage’s density in the foreground, but with a heavier pen nib and a slower hand, I was able to emphasise the differing ranges.

We’re taught to draw what we see, not what we think we see. Having now analysed it, I can see I have incorrectly drawn the field line. However, the overall foliage shapes are quite accurate.

Each new sketch is a new lesson.
