This blog is an insight into my design process and interests.

Allowing exploration of anything that may aid my journey into becoming a landscape architect.

Minute Modals

We were tasked with doing and not thinking (too much). A chance to use a bit of creativity with quick decision-making.

We had to make 4 modals with varying complexity and increased constraints. We were only allowed to used 1 x A4 piece of paper and masking tape. We had to use all of the paper and not allowed to cut with scissors (but could tear the paper).

Modal 1: Peated & Pierced (2mins)

Modal 2: Curvaceous & Rigid/Stiff

Modal 3: Planar & Interconnected

We had to ensure this had 3 points of contact with the standing surface.

We have a few minutes longer to complete this, but I rushed this. however the brief was filled. This was actually modelled on a cake my mother make for me for my 4th birthday. it was a standing cactus cake, interlocked. It is amazing, at times of need, what ones brain remembers.

Modal 4: CRASH (5 Mins thinking, 5 mins Doing)

This had to have an element of motion.

Because we had continuing time constraints, my adrenalin started to pump, and I became very impetuous. I felt my thought processes were becoming limited and I was missing a few key elements that would have aided construction.
