We spent this beautiful autumn morning at Barnwood Park and Arboretum, nestled within a built up residential area in Gloucester. It has a beautiful history which is thankfully being remembered. Our project (theoretical only) is to find ways in which to improve the site, taking into consideration the hydrology I.e. flooding & water flow across the site, the vegetation and possibilities on improving management of the site. Currently it’s a shared partnership between the council and a local volunteer group. And I must say they do a fine job thus far. So research cap on, pens at the ready…..
