I chose chocolate coins, for a few reasons:
1) They can be easily moulded. Having studies all the sciences, I do have an interest in applying science to art and design. Chocolate can be both liquid and solid which is a “phase” transformation (changing the state of matter).
2) There is a wrapper which is reflective. This makes the object itself become the canvas rather than just be on the canvas.
3) I get to eat it at the end which is always an advantage.
I chose to arrange my creations on a distorted clock face. Why? Because time is relative and subjective, it can be distorted, subtracted, added to, fragmented, or mirrored though parallel universes. Time can be transformed.

Was how I presented my creations the most effective in portraying the transformations?
There was no wrong or right way to present these items, but there could always be a better way to help aid in the impact of the project. I laid them in a random order around the clock face. I could have laid them alphabetically or paid the transformations (like I have on this blog). But for me, that would be too easy. This exercise, for me, was about creativity and exploration. The viewer then can explore them, aiding their creative progress.
You can also see throughout this post my exploration within Photoshop. I have been trying to enhance the qualities of the image, extract the from the background whilst maintaining the shadow.
An image with a shadow, creates context within space, it related to “real-life” creating a connection with the viewer.
I also thought about doing candles, but when I heard another student doing these, I chose against it. However, the candles they chose were very different. Therefore, we would have had very different creations if I had picked them too.
I do have this underlying concern: I am going to offend someone, or someone will take my actions personally and/or against them. This inhibits my decisions… or does it enable me to think outside my box a bit more and develop my creativity?
Regardless, I need to understand why I do this and build upon my self-belief to ensure it doesn’t detract from my progress.
I have not identified which picture is which transformation; the viewer can interpret them as they wish.
