To initiate the design process alongside the local community LUC worked to create an intensive community engagement charrette. As the site is so central it was key to ensure the local residents were on board and felt heard. This seems to have paid dividends with the high foot flow and great reviews for the site becoming a prime location rather than just a thoroughfare successfully connecting communities.

This is a multi-functional space which incorporates art & design, play, and canal impression on the paths, with SUDs infrastructure and Heritage & asset improvement, preserving and enhancing nature & biodiversity.
I absolutely love this site and wish to visit it; it seems to be a health, social and economic success from all aspects, despite the hard topographical & location constraints.
