Mutabilis LES PRÉS SALÉS OUEST

“The development of the 42-hectare site, located in the Arcachon basin, aims to restore and enhance salt meadow areas and raise awareness among the population for the protection of natural areas”.

This area is incredible for biodiversity and water/storm solutions; it has lots of winding linear paths in 1 monotoned/material creating simplistic minimalism.

I do feel the creative design side, however, has lacked a bit, and opportunities could have been missed to incorporate a few climbing architectural pieces, which could have added an extra element of play alongside adding items to grow visitors’ creativity.

There is little sense of place; trails, whether fitness, meditation, or sculpture hidden away along the path, could allow the visitors to be even more connected within the space, rather than just for walking, sitting and watching (these are too still valuable, however). Making the visitors connect to the site more would encourage them to protect the natural areas this project aims to protect.
