Stretcher Bond – The most used bricklaying pattern at present, due to its simplicity and speed to lay, it is highly economical from a commercial perspective.
Patterns can be incorporated, however, by using bricks of different colours. This pattern also allows for a cavity wall between two wall skins.

Flemish Bond – centrally placed, alternating headers and stretchers in the same course. This creates a more interesting appearance and improves the walls’ strength.

Flemish Garden Wall (Sussex) Bond – one header is placed at every third stretcher.

English Garden Wall Bond – a header course placed between multiple layers of stretcher.

English Bond – this is one of the strongest walls, alternating courses of stretchers and headers.
