Our design concept needed to be made into a usable design, incorporating the “story through our lives (life & death) and the Kraken mythological enchanted creature.
From some initial conceptual sketches, be preceded to develop the idea.
We agreed, then we would represent the Kraken with 1 large tentacle that would also simulate a barrow, across the site.

We knew we needed a path between 0.9-1.2 metres in width and wanted a stream representing the water of life. Explored a whirlpool, an entangled twist, and came to a path with dead ends and the path as a constant threat alongside. The dead ends represent unfortunate life events or routes one takes in life that don’t go as expected.
The stream will not be water. The water will be represented by sea glass or sea/ beach plastic to continue to raise awareness of the manmade rubbish in our waters, destroying ecosystems.
We will have a reservoir basin at the base of the tentacle to collect rainwater for watering or as a reflection pond throughout the shows’ display season. Virtues are not always present, so this will represent the ebb and flow of lifes needs.

We have transferred it into AutoCAD to ensure the layout works to scale, and with some slight adjustments, we have set the main design layout.
